Event Description: “Lyle O. Reitzel Gallery presents up-and-coming Spanish Dúo Los Bravú in the prestigious art fair VOLTA New York 2020 from March 4-8 2020 at their new location at Metropolitan West N.Y. Los Bravú, Diego Omil & Dea Gómez are at booth 1.17 in VOLTA NY. For this solo show in Volta Los Bravú present a selection of paintings and works on paper made on both sides of the Atlantic. An artistic journey between West Africa and the Caribbean, specifically between two countries that the artists know in depth: the Dominican Republic and Senegal. In the latter, the infamous memory of slavery on the island of Gorée survives, from which more than twenty million people were enslaved from the 16th to 19th century, bringing with them a whole melting pot of African cultures throughout the world.
