Event Description: “The NAGB doubles up on your dose of films for February as we celebrate Black History Month and Sir Sidney Poitier's 92nd turn around the sun with the screening of the brilliant adaption of Lorraine Hansberry’s immortal 'A Raisin in the Sun.' The film, made in 1961 by Daniel Petrie, reprises the original Broadway stars—including Poitier and Ruby Dee—as members of an African American family living in a cramped Chicago apartment, in this deeply resonant tale of dreams deferred. The Youngers await a life-insurance check they hope will change their circumstances, but tensions arise over how to use the money. This and all screenings are FREE and open to the public. We will have popcorn on hand for sale. Come out with your blanket and spend this comfy winter night with us ...”Read more: The NAGB-Facebook and The NAGB

About the Masterworks Museum: “Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art is a not for profit organisation, which means that our funding comes from friends in the community and abroad. We rely entirely on the generosity of others, through donations, our volunteer programme and membership. Part of our mission is to build a major collection, not only of Bermuda art from the past, but also one that embodies the artists of today, as well as a vision for the future. By embracing all art forms, we hope to encourage artists from both Bermuda and abroad to develop their talents in our inspirational island setting. We also encourage the repatriation of works of art inspired by the island, and welcome any gift that may enhance our Collection.” — Read more: Bermuda Masterworks-About Us
