Event Description: “The Artists Alliance Barbados invites you to the Opening Reception of a Pop Up Art Gallery Exhibition in celebration of African Heritage month entitled 'Retentions.' This exhibition is a Deep Window display housed at the Norman Centre Mall, Bridgetown. 'Retentions' opening event will take the form of a Panel Discussion. Panelists: Adrian Green, Dr. Deryck Murry, Dr. Nancy Jacobs. Works from the Continent: From Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Zimbabwe, The works are loaned from the collections of some of our supporters. They have been to the continent and brought them back to proudly display in their homes: Allan Cummins, Ann and Eric Small, Danielle Toppin, Denis McIntosh, Jean and Winston Small, Juliana Inniss, Nyzingha Onifa, Oneka Small, Richard Goddard; From Barbados: Collectors’ items are displayed with work by contemporary Barbadian artists who use ideas, symbols and feelings of Africa in their work. Together they show continuity in our excitement and love for Africa.
