Thierry Lamare // Those From Shallow Waters from Settler's Cove Productions on VimeoFrench artist, Thierry Lamare, epitomizes the reasons artists create. Having observed and depicted life in The Bahamas for 30 years, he has masterfully illustrated the Bahamian landscape and the Bahamian people at the center of his work. His admiration for Long Island native Ophelia is exemplary of the important connection between artist and subject, and she is the artist's most focused study of a human subject to date. Thierry Lamare's skill as a translator of humanity to the canvas is especially apparent in the extremely vivid details of his artwork. A true artist should always seek to engage and invoke the most tender of human emotions, to tell the story of his/her subject, and, in this way, Thierry Lamare has perfected his craft.
