Event Description: “You are cordially invited to the 'Caribbean Diaspora Forum' presented by the Caribbean Tourism Organization on Monday, June 5, 2017 @ 6:00pm-9:00pm at Medgar Evers College — Brooklyn, New York USA. Caribbean nationals who make up hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers and are what is known as the ‘Caribbean Diaspora.’ The Diaspora’s loyalty to the Caribbean is unquestioned and their commitment to regional tourism is undisputed. While they tirelessly act as unofficial tourism ambassadors for their home countries and the region on a whole, many also want to play an even more direct role. Diaspora entrepreneurs wish to invest at home and want to know what opportunities are in the tourism sector and how to access them. The theme of this year’s forum is Optimizing the economic potential of cultural and heritage tourism. The Caribbean is recognized as having a vibrant and diverse, yet unique heritage, and a culture so rich as to be enviable. With culture and heritage contributing an estimated $625 billion to the global economy, the economic potential for the Caribbean is enormous.
