Event Description: “Family Island access to the National Collection is of immense importance to the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB). To answer the call of sharing Bahamian art with every citizen possible, the NAGB developed a travelling exhibition using the works of two iconic Bahamian masters, Maxwell Taylor and Amos Ferguson. This spring, MAXAMOS travels to the Abacos. About The NAGB: “Housed in the historic Villa Doyle, built in the 1860s and lovingly restored in the 1990s, the NAGB preserves the National Collection of Bahamian Art, part of which is on permanent display on the ground floor. Upper galleries engage the history of Bahamian Art and Visual culture and support contemporary movements and experimental contemporary art practice through temporary exhibitions.
