About Gallerie 909: “GALLERIE 909 - is an African-American art gallery founded by Carla Bristol in April, 2014. This gallery is centrally located in the heart of historic Midtown on the Deuces in a community that has inspired artists for generations. The Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American History Museum is also a gem of this community. The area is part of a new emerging arts community as well as The African American Heritage trail documenting its rich history. This gallery is becoming known as the preeminent art space representing African and Caribbean Collections with works of Art by established and emerging artists. 909 offers pop-up gallery in our shared courtyard and features new artist every three to six weeks with over 30 local and national artists presented within the first 12 months.
