Event Description: “A festival dedicated to the theater of the Caribbean organized by Jean-Michel Martial where the aim is to present to the Parisian public the richness of the 'Caribbean repertoire': theater, dance, contemporary writing ... After the success of the first edition, Gare au Théâtre has the pleasure to welcome Kanoas again for a second edition. The Kanoas * Festival welcomes the artistic expressions of the Caribbean, which involve rhythm, form, body, dance, sound ... An abundant program, mixing, tales, slam, dances, readings, and theater in one Spirit of encounter, openness and sharing. Beyond boundaries and borders we transcend differences for the pleasure of elsewhere and discovery. (*) Kanoas is inspired by the name the Arawaks gave to the boats which allowed them to sail from island to island ... About the Kanoas Festival: “The 'Kanoas Festival' is a project carried out by the company 'The Other Breath.' Since 2008, this theater company based in the island of France has been working on the theme of 'the encounter.' Today, its ambition is to give better visibility to the emblematic works of the Caribbean theater. 'The Other Wind' brought together a corpus of 34 theater plays under the name 'Caribbean Theatre Directory' and is committed to edit text in a multilingual version and present to the widest audience possible.
