Event Description: “2016 BENEFIT LAUNCH: 'Green Screen – The Environmental Film Festival' will launch its 2016 season with its annual Cocktail Benefit Launch on November 1st at Digicel IMAX, Port of Spain. Minister of Planning and Development Camille Robinson Regis will be among speakers at the event. Green Screen is an annual festival of acclaimed local, regional and international films which highlight crucial environmental issues relevant to T&T. The festival, now in its sixth edition, will start off with “The Pearl Button” (82 mins), a beautifully wrought and poetic documentary by Chilean master, Patricio Guzman, which discusses Chile’s relationship with water, it’s indigenous population and examines how they intersect with Augusto Pinochet’s notorious regime. Green Screen 2016 is sponsored by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Film TT, Atlantic, Sagicor General, and Vemco. At the launch, which commences at 6 pm, speakers will include representatives from sponsors and partners, and festival director Carver Bacchus. After the film, guests will be invited to enjoy cocktails, canapés and conversation with environmental stakeholders, decision makers, filmmakers and people passionate about environmental concerns. The 2016 season will continue through November 12th with free screenings at several venues, school screenings at IMAX, special events and panel discussions. Advance tickets - TT$200 ...
