About Artist Charles Knights: “Arriving in Bermuda a few years ago as the new violin teacher at the Menuhin Foundation, Charles Knights found himself signed up with the island’s flourishing Plein Air group within his first week. Charles has fine tuned his skills from advice given on these Sunday sessions and in particular from Chris Marson, his adopted guru. Since painting in Bermuda, his definition of a good painting is one with a palm tree in it. Many palms later and Charles has in the meantime painted the coastline of Alaska’s coastal wilderness, the Great Wall of China, and the wild flowers in Texas Hill Country. His summers are spent painting in Tuscany and South West France and he recently returned from a week of painting in and around Essouira, Morocco. He enjoys working plein air and rarely likes to spend more than 90 minutes on a water colour as after that time things start going wrong!”Read more:
About the Masterworks Museum: “Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art is a not for profit organisation, which means that our funding comes from friends in the community and abroad. We rely entirely on the generosity of others, through donations, our volunteer programme and membership. Part of our mission is to build a major collection, not only of Bermuda art from the past, but also one that embodies the artists of today, as well as a vision for the future. By embracing all art forms, we hope to encourage artists from both Bermuda and abroad to develop their talents in our inspirational island setting. We also encourage the repatriation of works of art inspired by the island, and welcome any gift that may enhance our Collection.”Read more:
