About the Artist: "Born on the beautiful island of Bermuda on 9th December 1951, Robert's art has been called a smile, a song, a celebration of the gift of life. Bassett, whose work has been strongly influenced by the Bermuda Gombey troupes, and Bermuda kite making, paints in a buoyantly dramatic, big, bold and beguiling style. He has also been influenced by the modern impressionist masters and contemporary African figurativism.
