Event Description: “We have a not-to-miss talk on Thursday, September 25th @ 7 p.m in collaboration with the AMMC and Patricia Glinton entitled: 'Tongue of the Ocean: What Bahamian language reveals about us as a people.' The focus will be on language form and content and how history, geography and ancestry have influenced them. Mrs. Glinton-Meicholas will also explore Bahamian language as an identity marker. The goal is to be informative yet entertaining, lighthearted rather than overly academic, but accurate. The audience can expect verbal communication-- interesting words and phrases from the Bahamian lexicon, our love of metaphorical language, proverbs and examples of nonverbal communication-- postures, facial expression, eye gaze, tone of voice, handshakes, hand holding.”Read more: NAGB Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheNAGB
