The National Gallery of Jamaica's (NGJ) Last Sundays programme for June 2014 is scheduled for Sunday, June 29, and is presented in association with Kingston on the Edge (KOTE), Jamaica's first urban arts festival. The programme will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The featured performance for the day, scheduled to start at 2 p.m., is by Aisha Davis. A singer, songwriter, dancer and actress, Davis combines soulful vocals and dance moves. She has toured internationally, sharing the stage with acts such as Kymani Marley, Cocoa Tea, Alborosie, Shaggy, Jimmy Cliff, and Shabba Ranks.
“Anything with Nothing: Art from the Streets of Urban Jamaica exhibition, will be the focus of the programme, but the permanent exhibitions will also be open for viewing. Anything with Nothing, which will close on July 11, features 10 street artists from the Corporate Area and Spanish Town, showcasing work specially created for the exhibition and photo-documentation of the street art.”Jamaica Gleaner http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20140627/ent/ent7.html
Street Art - The featured street artists are Kemar Black, Anthony Brown, Cleaver Cunningham, Vermon 'Howie' Grant, Ricardo 'Ricky Culture' Lawrence, Donavon 'Danny Coxon' McLeod, Dion 'Sand' Palmer, Michael Robinson, Andrew 'Designer Ice' Thomas and T. Earl Witter.
