About Artist Karen Hale-Jackson: "As a child, Karen spent every spare moment drawing, painting, making paper dolls and designing clothing for them. She has always exhibited a natural affinity for art. A self taught artist, Karen exhibited her first works at the Women in Art Exhibition in 2000. She has since continued on strongly, becoming well known for her bright fauna and flora and her local scenery that is ever present in this joint show. This year Karen has worked with Stephen- Jay Photography to produce a wide range of acrylic paintings of varying subject matter. With scenes such as the blue bay of Maracas, fishermen along the shoreline pulling in their nets, the sun rising softly through the green coconut trees, tropical forests and bright lilies on the water surface, Karen has expertly captured the beauty she sees in her environment." -- Horizons Art Gallery
About Artist Beverly Thomas: "Beverly Thomas was encouraged to pursue art after graduating from Secondary School and so it became an all consuming hobby. Never did she imagine that she would become the successful career artist that she is today. She developed her talent through art classes and workshops and has since produced vibrant, tropically themed works that have captured the innate beauty of her surroundings that inspires her. This year Beverly has produced acrylic paintings of beautiful women and vibrant abstracts, her painting techniques allowing her to create heavy and bold splashes of colour on her canvases. Beverly believes that art is emotion expressed on canvas and hopes that her work reaches each viewer with positive energy and love." -- Horizons Art Gallery
